Vishal Talreja co-founded Dream A Dream along with 11 others in 1999. Dream A Dream is an organization that is working on empowering children from vulnerable backgrounds by developing life skills and at the same time sensitizing the community through active volunteering leading to a non-discriminatory society where unique differences are appreciated. Talreja worked for three years in the corporate sector with Xerox and Technology Holdings before taking over the reigns of Dream a Dream in 2002. He is an Ashoka Fellow and also sits on Boards of many organizations including Unltd India, ITIHAS and Bangalore Cares. Talreja also mentors many start-up NGOs and provides his expertise in areas of governance, strategic planning, fundraising strategy, project evaluations, financial planning among other areas as an independent consultant.
