Who will be attending the conference?
The InspirED conference will bring together innovative educators from diverse schools and communities across India. These teachers will be from rural and urban areas, from schools with a range of access to resources, and from a diverse array of geographic areas. What they share is their passion for education, their commitment to innovating in the classroom, and their desire to be part of building India’s education system for the future.
Where will it take place?
The conference will be held at The American School of Bombay and at Xaviers College. The conference’s opening evening will be held at Xaviers College in South Bombay while the remaining two days will take place at The American School of Bombay in Bandra Kurla Complex. How are you recruiting attendees?
The InspirED Planning Committee is reaching out to the most inspiring people we know to recruit attendees, presenters, and sponsors. We have contacted a network of schools, NGOs, and individuals who work in diverse regions around India. We are also using a word-of-mouth campaign to help spread the word. Who’s presenting at the conference?
The Conference Committee has carefully selected an impressive line-up of innovative presenters and speakers who will be holding workshops and sessions at the InspirED conference. What kind of workshops can I expect? Built on foundations of innovation and inspiration, we have designed a conference programme featuring workshops delivered by leading experts in education. In addition to workshops, the conference features an Innovation Bazaar, spotlight schools, and inspiring speakers.
I’m a teacher in India: how can I apply to attend?
We are currently accepting applications through our online system. The application includes background information as well as short answers about why you want to attend and the innovative methods you are using in your classroom. The information you provide will be the basis of our selection, so please be as honest and thorough as possible. Applications are due on Friday, August 23. Hard copies of the application are available on request and can be mailed to info@inspiredindia.in or returned to: “InspirED Conference” The Akanksha Foundation, Voltas House ‘C’, TB Kadam Marg, Chinchpokli, Mumbai.
What is the cost of attending the conference?
Thanks to the generosity of our Conference Sponsors , The Parthenon Group, The National Stock Exchange of India, Ltd, and The American School of Bombay, we have been able to keep the cost of attending the conference low for participants. The conference fee is Rs. 1500 per person. Financial assistance is available on a case-by-case basis for schools or teachers who do not have the resources to pay the fee. Is lodging included in the cost of the conference?
Though the cost of lodging is not included in the conference fee, we have partnered with a number of local Mumbai hotels that are offering special rates to conference attendees. For a list of participating hotels and rates, you can visit the “Conference Logistics”
Who is hosting the conference?
The InspirED conference is being hosted by The American School of Bombay, The Akanksha Foundation, Teach for India and The Asia Society. The conference planning committee is made up of individuals from these four organizations.
Who is sponsoring the conference?
Our generous sponsors include The Parthenon Group (Education Benefactor) , the National Stock Exchange of India, Ltd. (Education Contributor), and The American School of Bombay (Education Contributor). These organizations all share a commitment to education in India and have made it possible for us to create this truly inspiring event.
